GET UNSTUCK. GET GOING.
MAKE progress. And PROFIT.

Have you told yourself:

  • You need help managing positioning, people, products, and process?

  • Inclusivity and profitability don’t mix?

  • You’re stuck on a one-way street without exits, cross streets, or detours?

I can work with you to silence your unreasonable inner critic, dig out the path that’s already buried in your big brain, complement your superpowers with mine, and trade analysis paralysis and overwhelm for the success and social impact you want.

My STory

When I tell people about co-founding BlogHer, they often ask, “Weren’t you afraid to fail?” Valid question, given most startups fail, and less than 2% of venture dollars go to women-founded companies.

I managed the fear by leaning into it and asking myself, “What is the worst that could happen?” Answer: If it all fell apart, I’d have to move in with my mom, sleep in my childhood twin bed, get a job, pay off my debt, and start again. Not fun, but not tragic. That in mind, I knew the risk was worth the potential reward.

Against the odds, BlogHer succeeded. We grew from grassroots movement to national women’s media and transformed that valued-based movement into a new market. We also built value, raising four rounds of VC funding and exiting via acquisition. Along the way, BlogHer gave hundreds of women their first speaking opportunities and paid writing gigs. The “BlogHer Economy” paid content creators before it was cool. And we consciously featured the full diversity of our community from the very outset.

I co-created a mission-based company rooted in the ethos that you can do business and do good.

We busted stereotypes about women creators and women-owned companies.

We established value in the marketplace and let values dictate how we ran the company.

Since BlogHer, I have focused on helping others know their value and live their values too.
